Hello...

My name is Alison Mo. I am a Clinical and Holistic Aromatherapy practitioner.

I practice as The Health Trilogy and I am qualified to blend and apply essential oils for clinical and beauty purposes. I am also a qualified Massage Therapist and a Complementary Therapist volunteer at The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care in Farnham, Surrey.

I am an IFA Level 4 Clinical Aromatherapist and my knowledge and experience is underpinned with food science and biochemistry.

I am a full member of The International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA) and I hold memberships with the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

My company, The Health Trilogy, believes that in order to achieve a true sense of well-being, you need to ensure that your mind, body and spirit are all in a healthy place and aromatherapy is an excellent way to do this. This is why I offer therapeutic treatments that are designed to renew the body, calm the mind and restore the spirit.

Whether you are seeking acute or long term symptom management, relief from muscular tension, stress/anxiety, chronic pain or an escape from the day-to-day, my treatments are designed to accommodate your individual needs.

I am also on hand to offer complimentary therapy support to individuals and their family and carers who are undergoing conventional cancer treatment and palliative care.

Please get in touch because I am here to help.

Aromatherapy in Healthcare

Aromatherapy to most people means nothing more than a nice smelling massage and even then, in the majority of cases, the aromatic massage oils have been pre-blended for general use. This is necessary because only aromatherapists are qualified to blend essential oil mixtures. However, aromatherapy is much more than that. Imagine the added value and benefits of receiving a massage using an oil blend that not only do you find aromatically pleasant but is also mixed to support your personal emotional and physical health/well-being needs.

In fact, aromatherapy is increasingly being used alongside conventional medicine to help with anxiety, stress, depression, menopausal symptoms and chronic conditions such as arthritis, frozen shoulder and psoriasis.

Aromatherapy also plays a huge complementary role in helping to relieve the symptoms of cancer and the side effects experienced whilst undergoing cancer treatment e.g. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Please note that the aromatherapy therapies I offer are designed to be used in conjunction with conventional treatments and are used by individuals to seek to relieve the symptoms of cancer and/or the side effects of conventional treatments. MY THERAPIES DO NOT REMEDY CANCER ITSELF AND SHOULD NOT BE USED AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE TREATMENT RECOMMENDED FOR YOU BY YOUR TREATING MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS, NOR THE COURSE OF TREATMENT PROVIDED BY YOUR CONSULTANT NOR TREATMENTS PROVIDED BY A HOSPITAL.

How Aromatherapy Works

Essential oils are complex compounds containing up to one hundred different chemical components which give them their unique set of therapeutic characteristics that give pain relief and are anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antispasmodic. What's more, they can help to calm, uplift or stimulate the mind, body and spirit.

When introduced into the bloodstream, these chemical compounds are metabolised by the body to produce the substances and chemical reactions that stimulate the desired therapeutic effect.

Massage, inhalation, baths, compresses and topical applications are the best application pathways and once in the bloodstream, it normally takes 20-70 minutes for the chemicals to take effect.

Essential Oils can help with

Depression

Rose Otto is known to promote positive emotions and Frankincense can help disconnect you from anxieties founded in the past.

Fatigue & Feeling Run Down

Certain essential oils such as Peppermint and Lemon act as great tonics (eg immunity system stimulants) that will help boost your body's ability to recover and regain its strength whilst recovering from colds, flus and other illnesses.

Clarity of Mind

Rosemary brings focus and Basil reduces mind clutter.

Women's Health

Clary Sage can help to alleviate and regulate menstrual issues, pre-menstrual tension and help with the menopause.  Some can even act as an aphrodisiac or a tonic for the reproductive system.

It is important to mention that aromatherapy has to be used with great care during pregnancy and massages should never be carried out on pregnant women who are under the 12 week mark.

Insomnia

Not being able to sleep or waking up just after a couple of hours of going to bed is frustrating.

Lavender relaxes and calms the mind and body into sleep mode and over a certain dosage, it acts as a sedative.

Stress & Anxiety

It's not good for your mind to be under constant stress or anxiousness because it causes your body not to function normally.

Essential oils such as Geranium, can help to return your body's systems back to normal by balancing and regulating adrenaline flow thus reducing the physical and mental symptoms of stress.

What to Expect

My modern, welcoming clinic is based in Crondall, near Farnham, Surrey.

I offer two categories of treatment:

Renew and Refresh treatments - One off treatments using my range of pre-blended aromatic massage oils to relax and revitalise the mind, body and spirit.  These treatments are perfect if you want to melt away accumulated stress and restore balance and vitality to body, mind & spirit. A short medical history will be required to ensure that there are no contra-indications preventing you from having the massage.

Clinical Aromatherapy - These treatments offer short, medium to long term symptom management support for acute and chronic ailments and conditions. Also, I can offer symptom support for individuals undergoing cancer treatment and palliative care.

During your first consultation, a detailed medical history will be taken to ascertain your specific health and well-being needs. From the collated information, I will then create a tailored treatment plan listing the recommended essential oil blend which will then be applied topically using a 60 minute partial or full body massage. Where appropriate, inhalation and other topical application techniques will also be used.

At the end of the treatment, home care preparations such as aroma sticks, bath oils, soap, roller balls containing the key essential oils will be given to sustain the therapeutic effects until the next appointment.

Treatments & Pricing

The therapy list includes the most popular treatments and it is not a definitive list. If you do not see a treatment therapy that fits your health and well-being needs then please get in contact and I can put something together just for you.

When applying the therapeutic essential oil blend, a mix of massage techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue and acupressure will be used as well as any inhalation techniques that I feel will enhance the overall treatment effect.

The time you book starts from when the massage therapy commences and not from when you walk through the door. For me, it's an important factor that you get to set the pace when you come through the door rather than your treatment experience being governed by a rigid time slot.

Appointments are available from Monday to Saturday 9am – 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm and can be booked online.

All treatments will require full payment in advance on booking. Please see my terms and conditions for full details regarding bookings, cancellations and refunds.

GIFT VOUCHERS - If you have a gift voucher that you would like to redeem, please email your suggested dates and times using the Get in Touch form below or call 07912 528407. Alternatively, you can book online using the voucher code. All the treatments will be tailored to your particular health and wellbeing needs which we can discuss at the beginning of each appointment.

Private Healthcare - My IFA and CNHC registrations are recognised for reimbursement with Elect, Health Shield, Westfield Health and UK Healthcare private health cash plans. This allows clients who are members of the relevant plans to reclaim the cost of their treatment.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE

Cancellation Policy: Appointments cancelled by the client within 24 hours of appointment time will attract a 50% fee. A 100% fee is due if client fails to attend without prior notification.
